Aidan Turner: The Hero

Standard

Hello everyone! I apologize for the week-off from updates. The new year has started off with a rush, but I’ll try to do some catching up here.

Today’s Turner-Treat is an article written by Evie Bowman over on Middle-Earth Network. You’ll get to read about Kili and Thorin having some heartfelt interaction in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Dec. 2013). Another little treasure is hearing Aidan’s reaction to skydiving while in New Zealand. It definitely had me laughing. He is such a lovely, honest lad isn’t he?

Thanks for stopping in. I hope your new year has been great so far. If not, just remember, we get TWO films with the amazing Aidan this year! City of Bones (August), AND The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug!

Aidan’s New Project :)

Standard

After finishing up the colossal film series he’s been working on in New Zealand (The Hobbit — you might’ve heard of it), Aidan’s new project is ‘City of Bones’. Based on the first novel in the young adult urban fantasy series  ‘The Mortal Instruments’ by Cassandra Clare, Aidan plays avuncular Luke- a bookstore owner, werewolf, and mentor to young Clary (a demon hunter played by Lily Collins). City of Bones is the first book of six, so it’s conceivable that this could also be the first film of six. We’ll see.

Also appearing in the film are Robert Sheehan (Misfits), Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors), Jamie Campbell Bower (Twilight Series), and Lena Heady.

Filming started in Toronto in mid-August and is expected to last three months. Release is expected in August 2013.
